***** HOLD ON TO YOUR HATS FOLKS *****

Yeeeeeehaaawwww!!!! I've been working on something for a while and got confirmation today from Primm that the Primm family has given us permission to include the Primm (CORR) short course for the final race in the 2008 Pro1600 Shoot-Out Series in Primm, NV!!! We are the first group allowed to use it and I can't tell you how excited I am to integrate that into this year's bash!!

Yes, I know the race is a ways off (12/26-12/28), but I want to get started on making this a really awesome event... Time to put your thinking caps on and post the positives and negatives from last year's race... The timing/scoring issue is solved, I guarantee it...

I am going to look into bleacher rental for the short course area - hoping I can get a company to donate some or all of the rental or cost...

We have an opportunity to make this event the best ever, but it's going to take all of you 1600 teams to put your ideas out here and help us get there...

brad:
can i use the the tracker from last year or do i need a new one?

Ex race directer:
Brad no but you can use the new ones that will be used for this years race. There will be no problem this year because of these new ones.

GG:
LOL Brad! Wal-Mart was having a special on those haha...

I had the pleasure of getting to drive Rick Paquettes 1600 car (Bryan Freemans X-car) at the MORE race for 5 of the 6 laps and unfortunatly we had some problems but i got to see how awesome of a car that is. Set fast lap, but problems put us behind. We are going to fix those problems and see you all out on the track again real soon. I had a blast Rick, and thanks again for letting me drive your car!

cboyer:
Yah...Yah...we know your the sh*t!!!! Just kidding, it was too bad you had all those problems, but I had a great time getting drunk in the pits and watching you haul ass with one head light. Great job dude...I mean homo

Fernie:
im going to punch you in the face if you dont dominate in chula vista this weekend!!!

Brian:
Did Cory get punched yet?

OK I would like to request that any racer with a sport tag transponder please send me an e mail with this information. This is important so be complete. first the number x.xxx.xxx.xxx this is a 10 digit number on the side of the transponder. If you cant read it then make sure to bring it and I will scan it . Please be accurate when sending your name, car number, complete phone number with area code. As well as home address and car manufacturer. This will help start the data base. If you are a 16 hundred racer and you are pre entered I am assigning you a 10 digit transponder unit. During registration we must be in mellow mode if you know what I mean. This will be a new process and we will need to be accurate and not in a hurry. My goal is to have the data base complete and ready for the SNORE 250. That means that the SNORE 250 will be a mandatory transponder event. That means every class. YES EVERY CLASS WILL HAVE A TRANSPONDER AND YES THIS MEANS EVERY ONE. This will be a painless transition if people help. I know that I will receive half a$$ information. Be respectful. Just give me what is needed and things will be just fine. Thank You SNORE racers and member's.

Well, after careful consideration and taking into account the comments received, the final race in the Pro1600 series, aka the Terrible's Pro1600 Shoot-Out, will be the weekend of December 26-28. Yes, it's right after Christmas, but it was last year too and we have to keep it in 2007. The contract is signed and we are ready to rock! This is now set in stone! Time to let the floodgates of bashing/praising open LOL

Corey Goin:
Good Job Jamie, it will work well!! Four day weekend for everyone, no excuses.

brad inch:
lets not do the three driver thing this year.

GG:
Thanks Corey! Now's the time for all those who said they'd be willing to pitch in to start thinking about how... how about the things we should keep that byou all thought were great to start this off positive...am putting together a course to submit...

gg:
dammit! I suck typing on a laptop... try and read around the typos if you can lol....gg

This years MINT 400 was everything that past MINT 400 was. The track had it all and KJ Howe said it best "that track was the roughest MINT 400 ever and I ran most all of them." SNORE did a great job from tech on Fremont St. to the awards at whisky petes. And look at all the press for this years MINT 400 it was just like the MINT 400s of the past, when was the last time a desert race was on all 4 local news sports casts. The payback was excellent, the class 10 winner took home $10,500 nice payday, KJ howe said that was like paydays at the MINT 400 in it's prime. The spectators were just like the MINT 400 of old ,buffalo bills security estimated 10,000 at primm and the knight ranch rd spectator area was full. With SNORE starting the MINT 400 up again and out of the gate it's like this next years MINT 400 will be off the charts. If you missed this years MINT 400 you missed a classic, don't make the same mistake next year a miss the MINT 400. A big think you to all the volunteers of SNORE for doing a great job and bringing the legend of the MINT 400 back.

Dan did you make the money drop for the first start position?

HAHAHA:
No but he is 2nd!!! HAHAHA

Dan Martin:
Must of made it on time front row agian. This is getting expensive. lol

Rick Boyer/ OMB:
Dam Dan you have been having the luck,Is Dave driving with you ? I see & pitted next to a bunch of your Cherker buds last week.Dan you better get the second stop in the pre-run line, because in the race your getting you A?? passed soon. Ha see you in tech line, this should be a two ice chest tech line race.

Dan Martin:
Yeah Dave's driving wih me we are using Dave's 2 seater this time. Dennis Crowley said he helped dump some gas for you. I think one big ice chest should work for this tech line. Be gentle when you go by.

rick boyer:
No I think two ice chests for sure, My son Chris is drivg the first two laps, the I get in, Cory & Greg are also driving the last two laps in other cars, One hell of a lot of fast two seaters, I feel A two seater will win ? What about a side pot ???.??

Dave H:
Rick, fortunute for us, we are racing a old 1982 race-co. Just like my 82 Bunderson, I think it will have people scratching their heads also!! Nothing like an old anteak running up front, leaving owners of real expencive new cars wondering LOL. Look forward to seeing you Rick, throw sum Cokes in that big Ice chest. I told Dan that he needs to be throwing down on the lotto, with his luck he could be rich!!!

Robby Hendrickson:
two seater for the win

Dan Martin:
Sounds like we are going to need designated drivers from tech.
Is tech open on Thursday?

rick boyer:
YES 10AM THUR. & FRI.

Am putting together the Pro 1600 Finale at Primm again... We have the following weekend available:

Dec 26-28

Is this doable for you all?

kf:
close to xmas , how about 1-3-9 or 12-20-8

wm:
1-3-09

1637:
1-3 or 1-10

Cheater:
Dont really care what weekend But I AM NOT RACE DIRECTOR!! Somebody else can have that Fun job.

Corey Goin:
I've gpt Brian.

Anal Avenger:
Wouldn't 1/3 or 1/10 then make it the first race for 2009, while she's trying to schedule the last race for 2008?

Gurlie:
Good point, Anal Avenger LOL... the 2007 race was held just after Christmas and we had no problem with that... The positive thing about the 3rd is that it could turn into a four-day weekend - you have thurs the 1st off and I'm sure some of you wouldn't be opposed to taking the next day, Friday off too... Although I would really not like to go into 2008 - Laughlin and the MORE race are in January and it's cutting it too close, as we have a lot of cross-over racers for this event... To me, the 20th is too close to Chistmas, too much family stuff going on and other things...

Any thoughts?

Robby Hendrickson:

Hey I heard Tom Craig is down, Tom Hope you get better soon. Let us know ?

Dave Hendrickson:
Hope everything is ok

Tim Craig 3G Racing:
Hey rick this is tim craig. Yeah my dad had an incident while grading some property at his house. 9 broken ribs, and 5 fractured bones in his back. It also slightly punctured his lung. He is doing better now, and getting around really well. From the injury he also got an infection in the spine on the 6th and 7th nerve, causing some palsy and slight loss of function in the left side of his face, along with double vision. The double vision is what bothers him the most, but he is on medication for the infections. He should be back in the seat in a few months. Thanks Rick

Jamie:
We wish your dad the best, Tim...

***** ATTENTION ALL TEAMS PARTICIPATING IN THE MINT 400 *****

I am moving on to the next phase of the MINT 400 - the meet & greet autograph session. This opportunity will be held on Fremont Street East from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm and is open to ALL CLASSES. If your team would like to showcase your race vehicle, please let me know as soon as possible. I don't know yet how many vehicles I can fit down there, but I will try to accomodate everyone who asks... Please provide me with your name, class designation and a contact number. Get your posters, hero cards, swag, and sharpies ready for your fans... Make up a placard to place with your vehicle to give some specifics about it... And your team should be wearing their crew uniforms - gotta look good for the fans and paparazzi LOL...

You can email me or post here - either way works

Gurlie:
I have been in contact with IRC and they would be willing to come to the MINT 400. If you have used them in the past at other events, you know the irrefutable safety features this brings to the race, as well as allows your family and friends back home to track youl live as you race!! They need a minimum of 20 cars to make it worth their while to come out. If you used it last year at the Midnight Special or have the bracketry and antennas from BITD or another series, all you would do is rent the box for $275. If you need the kit, add another $325, which is yours to keep. SCORE and BITD are now mandating this system, so if you race either of those, you'll be one step ahead of the game. Please let me know either via email or post below so I can tell them yes or no.

rick boyer:

walt:
lucas--remberer Don Roundtree

Rick Boyer/ OMB:
Who was the driver name of the Tank, and what class did he race ??

ron t:
the tank was from the nevada national guard. it was on fremont st at teck. was in a class of its own. if i remember right it got as far as when the course went under i-15. it was too big to get through.
was having one hell of a run up to then.

walt:
Bobby Ferro
Mel Tyree
Hi-jumper
Bud Lakeman

Cheater:
Do you think they graded the tracks back then?

Rick Boyer/ OMB:
Point taken,I heard they even took a blade by ZOO road What is Off-road coming to. ?

Rob Naughton:
Cheater get over it! I am sure they didnt grade the course now or then, but if they did and said stay within the burms, how would you interpret it.
Rob

walt:
they didn't cheat or whine back then

David Hendrickson:
I remember Don Roundtree and his cool mid engine cars. Whats funny is his cars in the day were almost like a class 9 car today with a big engine. Infact almost all of them were. If we could have had present day 1600 cars then, they could have wooped the feild everytime. If Snore can generate even half the magic the Mint held, it will be a fantastic race.

lucas:
we would have to blade sections of all the courses to keep county and blm happy and just to see how bad the rock garden still is i went throught there about a week ago i am glad we are not racing that side all the wholes are square as square can be and i think the rocks grew.
i do remember don roundtree and sandwider racecars and all of there wins
let go farther back and the condor motorhome and the tank was the national gaurd entry
